Late 18th/early 19th Century French Directoire period gilt bronze allegory of the Arts and Sciences mantel clock. Surmounted by a putto figure standing on a classical stool pointing at a sphere. The case decorated with symbols of science and the arts. Down swept base with high relief facia plaque depicting a putto drawing. On toupie feet. Early original eight day silk suspension.
