Neapolitan Bronze of the Runner Boy
19th Century Neapolitan Grand Tour bronze of a Boy Runner after the Roman originals in the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. Patinated and verdi gris original, as found in the ground 'archaeological' finish. The original Boy Runner, was one of a pair of identical life size bronzes found in the 1750s in the garden of the Villa dei Paperi, Herculaneum, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius. Italy, circa 1880.
