Large Neapolitan Bronze of Venus Callipyge

Impressive late 19th Century Grand Tour Neapolitan patinated bronze of the Venus Callipyge, after the original in National Archeological Museum of Naples. An ancient erotic bronze the name 'Venus Callipyge' literally translates as Venus of the beautiful buttocks. This superbly modelled and cast bronze stands on a typical Neapolitan round bronze base. Italy circa 1890.
