CA0322 A fine pair of French 'Retour d'Egypte' style caryatid candlesticks

A lovely pair of late 19th century French Empire Retour d'Egypte style patinated and gilt bronze candlesticks in the manner of early 19th century Consulate period originals. Super quality with a touch of verdigris to the patination. Later converted to electricity they could be again making a wonderful pair of lamps. Stamped 'FRANCE' to edge of the base which dates them to circa 1890 and the introduction of the McKinley Act in the USA.
